Miranda Industries is not the same company as Miranda Mining & Development, which is the company referred to in your issue of Dec. 30, 1996 (“Mexico sizzles for Miranda, Teck”). It is unfortunate that two companies with similar names are active in the same industry and in the same area of Mexico.
Miranda Industries is a gold exploration company whose shares trade on the Vancouver Stock Exchange under the symbol MAD. Currently, the company has two projects in Mexico and three in Nevada.
In Nevada, Miranda Industries is active on the Gold Cross, Blue Wing and the Coyote Springs projects.
In Mexico, the company has a letter of intent with Eldorado Gold to joint-venture the Rastra project in Sinaloa state. Eldorado can earn a 51% interest by advancing the project to a bankable feasibility study, and a 70% interest by guaranteeing financing to take it to production.
Miranda Industries is also active on the Leticia concession in Guerrero state, 10 km southeast of the Nukay project of Teck and Miranda Mining & Development.
