I couldn’t help but notice the conflicting claims of Triton Mining and Greenstone Resources in your recent Mexico and Central America supplement (T.N.M., Oct. 28/96). Both claim to be Central America’s largest gold producer. So who is right?
In the interests of accuracy and fairness to readers and investors, perhaps The Northern Miner could ascertain just what actual (as opposed to design, planned or wished for) production is at Triton’s Lima mine, in Nicaragua, and Greenstone’s Santa Rosa mine, in Panama.

Editor’s note: Estimated production for Greenstone’s Central American operations in 1996 is 44,000 oz., while Triton estimates that its operations there will produce 37,000 oz. this year.
