LETTER TO THE EDITOR — Geological creativity

I had hoped that the Bre-X Minerals debacle would prove once and for all that the world’s largest gold deposit, wherever it may be, could only have been created by natural geological processes.

Move over Mother Nature. Rick Childress’ recent letter (T.N.M., May 12/97) regarding International Precious Metals shows that, in Arizona at least, creative assaying can do the job.

Can Canada really expect to avert another gold fiasco by adopting American or other regulatory reforms?
