Vancouver-based junior Skyline Gold has agreed to acquire a 70% interest in a newly discovered polymetallic deposit in the eastern Sierra Madre mountains of northern Mexico.
Mapping on the 4,300-acre Aztec property has identified a mile-long trend containing a series of porphyry-related, mineralized breccias and shear zones. Samples of oxidized material from the largest breccia zone identified (650 ft. wide by 1,150 ft.) have yielded values up to 0.76% copper and 2.1 oz. silver per ton.
Flanking the porphyry-hosted mineralization is a silver-zinc-lead zone that has returned values up to 1.9 oz. silver, 3.78% zinc, 3.98% lead and 1.64% copper.
