An agreement to manage and market a Sub-Andean Basins petroleum study has been signed by Petroleum Information Canada and ARPEL, the Latin American State Oil Co. Association for Reciprocal Assistance.
The study is the result of a consortium of South American state oil companies working through ARPEL to build a comprehensive geological work correlating the 21 Sub-Andean Basins.
The study, which cost $10 million and took four years to complete, was financed by the World Bank and Petro Canada International Assistance Corp. Staff members from the state oil companies of Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay participated in the study.
Petroleum Information is a company that manages oil and gas data.
