High levels of taxation — not labor costs and wages — was the main concern expressed by Canada’s top 1,000 business leaders when asked about their ability to compete with similar companies in Mexico, according to a survey by accountants and consulting firm KPMG.
The survey focused on the response of executives to the North American Free Trade Agreement. Labor costs were a concern, but mainly for businesses in the fastest growing category.
