LATIN AMERICA ROUNDUP — Waseco acquires Roberto option

An option agreement to acquire the rights to lease the Roberto mining claims in the Mexican state of Chihuahua has been negotiated by Waseco Resources (CDN) with Oso Exploration Services.

Oso’s option deal is with Mexican company Minera del Opata. To earn the option, Waseco must make certain payments by Oct. 30 and commence a $40,000 exploration program as soon as possible. Total work expenditures of $1 million are required during a 4-year period. The lease also calls for additional cash payments, the issuance of treasury shares and a 3% net smelter royalty.

The property hosts the Huizopa gold-silver deposit, which Waseco says has numerous old workings which supported production on a primitive scale.
