Assays from a second drill hole at the El Oro gold project northwest of Mexico City have been released by joint venture partners Hillsborough Resources (TSE) and Industrias Luisman, S.A. de C.V. of Mexico.
The partners are drilling a series of holes to evaluate the San Rafael oxide vein. Hole 93-02, drilled through an old stope and backfill, averaged 4.21 grams gold per tonne over 29.5 metres, including an 11.5 metre section grading 10.09 grams gold.
A third hole, 93-03, was abandoned after encountering a fault structure from 142.1 to 168.0 metres. Hole 93-04, collared 200 metres northwest of 93-02, had reached a depth of 147 metres at the time of the report. The El Oro gold district produced more than 175 million grams gold (5.6 million oz.) and 1.6 billion grams silver (52 million oz.) prior to cessation of production in 1927.
