LATIN AMERICA ROUNDUP — Moris gold project at feasibility

By late October, Manhattan Minerals (VSE) expects to have the results of a final feasibility study for its Moris heap-leach gold project in Chihuahua state, Mexico.

Based on a pre-feasibility report earlier this year, the project contains minable open-pit reserves of 4.3 million tons grading 0.058 oz. gold per ton, with 75% recovery over 60 days. Operating costs are expected to be about US$150 per oz.

Arizona-based Independent Mining Consultants is responsible for the mine design and mine plan, while Kappes Cassiday & Associates will handle the crushing, plant design, leach pads and infrastructure. Vancouver-based Norecol Environmental Consultants will oversee environmental aspects.
