LATIN AMERICA ROUNDUP — Joutel starts Cuban exploration

The ink has just dried on three contracts which will enable Joutel Resources (TSE) to start preliminary exploration on its Cuban properties.

The company plans to complete two airborne geophysical surveys which will be the first of their kind to be performed in Cuba.

The company will conduct 11,008 line km of a combined airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey over the Santa Clara and Camaguey properties. The survey will identify surface and buried base metal targets, as well as outline favorable geological environments for gold deposits. Also planned is a 6,756-line-km, helicopter-borne, electromagnetic survey over the Sierra Maestra property. This survey system was chosen because of its superiority to other systems in mountainous terrains.
