An exploration program is under way at the Inca de Oro gold project in northern Chile, Even Resources (VSE) reports.
Initial work will include surveying and check sampling of the existing underground workings, and surface trenching and sampling.
Previous work, Even says, includes the drilling of five percussion holes from surface. A zone 300 metres in length is indicated, including a heap leachable oxide zone which may extend to a depth of 80-90 metres.
The company, acting on a consultant’s report, says the potential exists for an economic gold-copper sulphide zone beneath the oxide zone. Proposed is concentrating the ore on site and shipping it to a smelter 70 km distant.
