Encouraging results have been obtained from the drilling of the wholly owned Piedras Verdes copper-oxide project in southern Sonora, Mexico, Azco Mining of Colorado reports.
The company says the work has confirmed the continuity and consistency of the main zone, which has been shown to exceed 7,400 ft. in length. The zone remains to be tested to the east and northeast.
An in situ copper-oxide grade averaging 0.45-0.5% is indicated, it reports. Also, an average thickness for the main mineralized zone is about 220 ft. Piedras Verdes is one of three large area copper-oxide deposits owned by Azco, which plans to use the solvent extraction-electrowinning method to recover the copper.
