Junior General Minerals (GNM-T) has intercepted high-grade copper-gold values at the Pajaritos property in Chile.
The company completed eight holes, all of which intercepted anomalous values. The high-grade interval occurred in hole 8, which returned 22 metres of mineralization grading 3.36% copper and 0.92 grams gold per tonne at a depth of 268 metres.
The mineralization appears to be structurally controlled in highly altered sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The 3,119-ha property contains numerous surface workings and copper and gold anomalies. Previous drilling indicated widespread alteration.
Additional drilling will attempt to trace the skarn mineralization discovered in hole 8 and explore other geologic and geophysical targets.
Since January, General Minerals has completed drill programs at six separate projects in Chile and one in China.
