Junior Cristobal Resources (CTV-M) has discovered a new gold zone at its Luminaria property in Peru.
Disseminated gold was encountered in a zone of sericitized and oxidized diorite, crosscut with high-grade gold arsenopyrite veinlets in stockwork.
The showing was exposed by a recent landslide.
Four trenches were dug perpendicular to the length of the zone, and 2-metre-long channel samples were collected from the trenches.
Results include 4.8 grams gold per tonne over 38 metres, 4.98 grams over 50 metres, 1.47 grams over 12 metres and 3.05 grams over 18 metres. The samples were tested by SGS Laboratory in Lima using the fire assay method.
The target is believed to represent a low-sulphidation epithermal gold prospect.
Cristobal plans to begin a second phase of trenching and channel sampling in an effort to assess the extent of the zone. Drilling will follow.
