Latest drilling rekindles interest in Douay project

The three partners in the Douay gold project in Quebec’s Casa Berardi region have reported further encouraging results from the remaining eight holes of a 17-hole drilling program. Operator of the project and holder of a 42% interest is Inco (TSE). Partners Societe d’Exploration Miniere Vior (ME) and Cambior (TSE) have a 37% and 21% interest, respectively. A discovery-hole intersection of 59.3 ft. grading 0.23 oz. gold per ton was announced in February.

The drilling, both the current and initial program earlier this year, is taking place on the western portion of the property. Results of the latest drilling, which tested for mineralization to a depth of about 600 ft., include: 0209,0402,0407,0000 Hole Width Grade (ft) (oz/t) 84626 27.4 0.23

(incl.) 6.5 0.53 84627 11.5 0.32 84628 7.6 0.27 84629 9.5 0.12 8.8 0.33 84630 2.3 0.11 84632 6.1 0.22 5.0 0.39 1.0 0.23 3.6 0.17

For holes 84625 and 84631, Inco reported weak mineralization was contained in the core.

Inco geologist Steve Sopher said the results are being evaluated to determine a further work program.
