LAST BUT NOT LEAST — Environmental policy for PDAC

Responding to concerns over environmental protection, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) has urged members to comply with the environmental policy adopted by the Mining Association of Canada.

To implement the policy, PDAC members are asked to work with government and the public in developing equitable and affordable guidelines. They must also assess, plan and operate all exploration and development projects in compliance with legislation.

Member companies are also asked to encourage research that expands knowledge of the effect of mining on the environment and improves reclamation technology.
