Three holes drilled by Aur Resources (TSE) on the Mainstreet property, east of Val d’Or, Que., have intersected stringer copper mineralization, reports property owner Beaufield Consolidated Resources (VSE).
The mineralization is hosted in altered felsic volcanic rocks which are believed to be part of the same stratigraphic package that hosts the Louvicourt copper-zinc deposit, about 5-6 km to the west.
Based on these results, Aur and Beaufield believe the property, situated in Louvicourt Twp., has the potential to host an economic base metal deposit. To test this potential further, Aur is drilling a hole which will intersect the favorable mineralized horizon, explored during the recent program, at or below the 250-metre level. This hole will also extend across the property boundary to test a mineralized horizon on Aur’s Lugold property, south of Mainstreet.
Aur can earn a 60% interest in Mainstreet by spending a further $250,000 on exploration by Aug. 31, 1994.
