Lakefield announces merger

Metallurgical research firm Lakefield Research has formed a joint venture with British-based Alfred Knight Group to service companies exploring in South America.

The new entity, Knight-Lakefield South America, will combine the operations of both companies to provide a range of laboratory services. (In Canada and England, each company will continue to operate independently.)

Knight-Lakefield is expected to house its sample preparation and chemical analysis labs in Antofagasta, Chile, and its environmental analytical labs in Santiago. The new firm will offer three primary areas of service: environmental assays; geochemical assays; and on-site technical services.
