Partners Goldnev Resources (VSE) and Starcore Resources (VSE) will begin drilling on their Niatak nickel-copper-cobalt property near Diamond Fields’ Voisey Bay discovery in Labrador.
A minimum of three holes will test the Niatak gossan, an east-west-trending mineralized zone measuring 300 by 100 metres.
Grab samples from the zone, which is composed of disseminated pyrrhotite with pods of massive, course-grained pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite, assayed up to 0.65% copper, 0.32% nickel and 0.11% cobalt.
Recent results from an airborne survey show a large, electromagnetic and coincident magnetic anomaly over the Niatak gossan. The survey also identified a second coincident electromagnetic-magnetic anomaly on the southern portion of the property.
The joint venture plans to investigate the second anomaly with a ground program. An airborne program over the companies’ Nain Bay property failed to identify any coincident electromagnetic-magnetic anomalies.
