LABRADOR NEWS ROUNDUP — Lakefield Minerals acquires Minipi land

The Minipi Lake area, about 100 km southwest of Goose Bay, has attracted several junior exploration companies seeking anorthosite-hosted base metals.

Lakefield Minerals (CDN) recently purchased claims in the area, which constitutes part of the Mealy Mountains anorthosite suite. The company reports that lake-bottom sediments sampled by an earlier government survey had anomalous nickel, copper and cobalt concentrations.
