Labrador News Roundup — Gossans found at Harp Lake

Boot-and-pick prospecting in the Harp Lake area, southwest of Voisey Bay, has revealed nine gossan zones in coarse anorthosite host rocks. Leicester Diamond Mines (VSE) reports the gossans contain iron and copper sulphides. The gossans have been sampled and sent for analysis.

Airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveying is scheduled for mid-August. The geophysical and sampling results will be used to guide a second stage of exploration.

Leicester also has a 5.6-sq.-km land package in the Snegamook Lake area, 180 km south of the Voisey Bay deposit. The two claim blocks are in the southeastern corner of the Harp Lake intrusive complex. The exploration crew has now moved to this area to perform similar work.
