LABRADOR NEWS ROUNDUP — Drilling of ANAK-1 returns sulphides

Drilling on the ANAK-1 property, 20 km northwest of the Voisey Bay nickel-copper-cobalt discovery in Labrador, has encountered mineralization.

Partners Tapestry Ventures (VSE) and Portman Explorations (VSE) drilled hole AN95-04 to test a gossan zone associated with airborne magnetic and electromagnetic anomalies. The hole stopped in a 4.5-metre zone of semi-massive pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite mineralization, near the margin of Nain Plutonic Suite gabbro-norite contact.

Assays are pending, and additional drill rods are being brought in to deepen the hole.

Hole AN95-02 tested the same gossan, 700 metres along strike from AN95-04, but stopped short of the target. Holes AN95-01 and 03 tested two other geophysical anomalies on the property but returned intersections of graphite with magnetite and pyrrhotite. No significant metal values were reported from this hole.
