The Kenneth Kutz “Mining in Canada” collection of early mining documents, maps and postcards will be sold at an auction at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on March 24.

The collection, which spans from the 1850s to modern times, tells the story of the nation’s mining heritage. There is a map of the Fraser gold diggings from the late 1850s, an original Klondike promotional broadside and a letter featuring the first postal stamp to depict a mining scene.

The collection belonged to Kutz, now deceased, who wrote Gold Fever and Untold Wealth: Canada’s Mineral Heritage, among other books.

For more information, call William Longley at (905) 690-3598. The collection can be viewed on the Internet at www.longleyauctions.com.
