The National Occupational Safety Association (NOSA) of South Africa has awarded five plantinum stars to De Beers’ Koffiefontein diamond mine, in the Free State.
It is the highest rating a mine can receive, and the 11th consecutive year in which Koffiefontein has received it.
Since 2000, NOSA has been placing more emphasis on safety, health and environmental protection.
