Kingswood drilling (November 26, 1990)

A 3,000-ft. drilling program is under way on the Bourlamaque Twp., Que., base metal property of Noranda (TSE) and Kingswood Explorations (ASE). The latter company is earning a 50% interest in the 18-claim property which lies about six miles west of the Aur/Louvem massive sulphide deposit near Val d’Or, Que.

Kingswood also reports it has signed a deal with privately owned Caber Mines to acquire its 25% interest in 472 base metal claims situated west of Matagami, Que. The properties, now owned 100% by Kingswood, are in La Gauchetiere, Daniel, Ste. Helene and Dezamures twps. The southern part of the claim group hosts similar geology to the 1.7-million ton Phelps Dodge zinc-copper-silver deposit which lies along strike. A $300,000 exploration program is set to begin in mid-December, the company said.
