Kimberlites elude Majescor

After drill-testing 11 geophysical targets at its Portage project in Quebec, Majescor Resources (MAJ-V) reports that no kimberlite was intersected.

The company used a reverse-circulation rig to sample a couple of poorly defined kimberlite mineral anomalies on the property, situated in the Otish Mountains.

Almost 400 basal till samples were collected from 52 holes in an effort to define a large indicator mineral anomaly that is said to be distinct from the train emanating from the Renard kimberlite discoveries. The Renard cluster sits directly up-ice of the Portage property.

In the meantime, drilling of the Wellington project at Victoria Island in Nunavut has also ended unsuccessfully. Majescor and its joint-venture partner, Diamonds North Resources (DDN-V), found no kimberlite while testing three geophysical anomalies with four holes totalling 350 metres. Further prospecting and till sampling are planned.
