Kimberlite drilled in Temagami

Newly partnered Tres-Or Resources (TRS-V) and Arctic Star Diamond (ADD-V) have intersected kimberlite at the Temagami North project near New Liskeard, Ont.

The hole, the first in the program, encountered weathered and serpentinized kimberlitic breccia at a down-hole depth of 93 metres (80 vertical metres) and ended in kimberlite at 251 metres (about 200 vertical metres). The magnetic signature of the pipe is double-lobed and has a surface area of 20 hectares.

The kimberlitic breccia is greenish-grey and rich in calcite, and features rare chrome-pyrope garnets, chrome diopsides, forsteritic olivine, black oxides, and local limestone xenoliths up to 2 cm in diameter.

A second hole tested the southern edge of the western lobe. Kimberlite-breccia was intersected from 63 to 97 metres down-hole before entering granite. The western lobe of the kimberlite has a width of at least 250 metres along this north-south section, and it is still open to the north.

A third and fourth hole will test the eastern lobe and the northern boundary of the western lobe.

Half the split core will be sent for diamond content analysis. In addition, some core will be studied in order to glean petrological information.

The property hosts more than 10 targets. Arctic Star is earning a half-interest in the Temagami North property.
