Kenora Gold Occurrences (ASE) has optioned a granite property, 50 km north of Kenora, Ont.
The deposit is massive, well jointed and easily quarried, with good road access. The granite is described as a unique coral color, with a bold crystal structure. “There is a buoyant demand for granite, particularly in the construction cladding and tile market,” said Kenora President John Dunham.
The company says it plans to joint venture with a quarry company and is negotiating with several major producers. The feasibility of a granite fabricating plant in the Kenora area was the subject of a 1986 provincial study.
In addition to the granite property, Kenora Golod has 28 gold claims in the Kenora area. They are adjacent to the Scramble property. Kenora also has 87 gold-copper claims on the Bay of Fundy area of New Brunswick.
