Jusuf Merukh loses lawsuit

The Supreme Court of British Columbia has granted AG Armeno Mines & Minerals (AGM-T) default judgment in its lawsuit against Jusuf Merukh in a matter involving the Batu Hijau copper-gold project in Indonesia.

Last year, AG Armeno announced plans to acquire a minority interest in Batu Hijau from the Indonesian businessman and his company, PT Pukuafu Indah. The Vancouver-based junior filed a lawsuit in October 1998, claiming damages and costs, for breach of the May 1998 agreement. Merukh holds interests in numerous Indonesian mineral properties, including the original Busang property in Kalimantan.
