Juniors team up in Labrador

Vancouver — Altius Minerals (ALS-V) and Fronteer Development (FRG-V) have teamed up to explore for iron oxide copper-gold mineralization in central Labrador.

The fellow juniors staked 187.5-sq.-km of ground in the 250-km long Central Mineral Belt of Labrador. Despite hositing several known copper and uranium showings, this area has seen little exploration over the past 20 years and has never been targeted for Olympic Dam style mineralization.

The new project covers a large Proterozoic-aged rock package that hosts copper, uranium, gold, silver, and molybdenum, as well as yttrium and niobium showings commonly associated with hematite-magnetite and zones of breccia.
