Partners MacDonald Mines Exploration (ASE) and Mill City Gold Mining (VSE) have completed a 660-metre drill program on their Golden Hill project near Camaguey, Cuba.
Eleven short holes were drilled to test for oxide and sulphide gold mineralization in two epithermal zones known as the Little Golden Hill and Three Hills.
The first hole, in the former zone, intersected a 15-to-20-metre-thick section of oxide mineralization. It assayed 4.1 grams gold per tonne over 16 metres, including 9.5 grams over 5 metres, and cut sulphide mineralization below the oxides that ran 0.5 gram over 21.7 metres and 0.4% copper over 6 metres.
The second hole encountered multiple intersections in the oxide zone, including:
1 gram gold over 3 metres; 1.1 grams gold over 4 metres; and 0.3 gram gold and 24.1 grams silver over 9 metres. Two intervals ran 0.6% copper.
Trenching was carried out to gain a better understanding of the underlying geology of the Little Golden Hill zone. A sample from one trench completed over the intersections drilled in GH-1 and GH-2 assayed 1.1 grams gold over 25 metres and included an intercept of 4.7 grams over 4 metres.
Assays from the other drill holes are expected later this week.
