Exploration has begun on the Jeremie Twp. gold property in northern Quebec.
The 195-claim property, owned by Canadian Golden Dragon Resources (VSE) and Cyprus Canada, is adjacent to, and west of, the gold discovery made by Cyprus and Ogy Petroleums (TSE) in Fenelon Twp.
Linecutting and ground geophysical surveys are being carried out to confirm the location of 10 electromagnetic conductors, prior to drilling. The program is focusing on auriferous pyrrhotite zones which occur adjacent to ultramafic rocks. This is the same geological setting as the new discovery in Fenelon Twp., and the Detour Lake gold mine, which is 45 miles to the west. The program got underway after Canadian Golden Dragon paid Cyprus an initial $39,000. The former can earn a half interest by spending $1 million over four years, of which $200,000 must be spent in the first year.
