Surface sampling by Joutel Resources (JTL-T) has uncovered a new gold zone on the Christina property in the Sierra Maestra region of southeastern Cuba.
The new structure has an overall length of 114.4 metres and averages 3.07 grams gold per tonne, including a higher-grade zone from which was returned 6.54 grams gold over 44.8 metres. Samples were taken across a vertical face in a northeast-southwest direction. The junior is continuing to sample the area and will shortly begin drilling the new discovery.
Christina was previously identified by Cuban geologists as a copper prospect.
As a result, the property was not analyzed for gold until Joutel’s involvement in 1995.
The junior is also working on several other projects in the country.
