A joint venture consisting of Jonpol Explorations, T & H Resources and Vancouver- based Coastoro Resources recently encountered some impressive gold values on their Garrison, Twp. property near Kirkland Lake, Ont.
Known as the Jonpol Group, the companies have common directors and officers including brothers John and Robert Pollock of whom the latter heads up Vancouver- based Coastoro. Robert Pollock says that three drills are currently operating on the property and he confirms the joint venture is considering an underground program next year.
Coastoro can earn a 20% interest for an expenditure of $750,000 almost a third of which has been spent already. The company has a commitment from nim Resource 1988 for another $550,000 in flow through funding which would allow it to continue exploration next year. Newfield Mines has 30% of the property so Jonpol and T & H can each earn 40% of 70%.
Drilling has indicated at least two gold-bearing zones so far, says Pollock. Among the higher grade values reported from the 18 holes drilled to date was 0.21 oz over 24 ft in Hole N87-2 between 504 ft and 528 ft.
Another hole returned 0.3 oz over 11 ft from 245 ft to 256 ft and 0.56 oz across 5 ft from 251 to 256 ft. Hole N87-17 hit 38 ft grading 0.3 oz from 508 ft to 546 ft which included 11 ft of 0.69 oz and 9 ft of 0.78 oz.
Pollock says they hope to drill to at least next June.30
