The Northern Miner is part of a close-knit group of people who also produce the Canadian Mining Journal and the Canadian and American Mines Handbook.
Over the holidays, we lost Jeff Wan, a dear friend and colleague in the Handbook department. He collapsed on the streets of Toronto on December 27, apparently of heart failure, and died a half-day later in hospital.
Jeff was an excellent worker and contributed greatly to the success of the handbook. He will be sorely missed here, and died too young at 49.
The Wan family has arranged a funeral service for Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home at 6150 Yonge St. in Toronto. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
