Intrepid Mines brings on Penta at Casposo

Intrepid Mines (IAU-T, IAU-A) is advancing its Casposo gold-silver project in Argentina by hiring local engineering firm Ingenieria Penta Sur S. A. Argentina.

Penta Sur, a division of global firm Penta Engineering, will design the gold and silver leach recovery plant and associated facilities through its Buenos Aires office with support from its Tucuman office.

The award comes at the end of a several-month-long international tendering process, and puts the company on the path to production, which is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2010. The leach recovery plant is expected to support an average milling rate of 1,000 tonnes per day.

Casposo hosts two deposits: Kamila and Mercado. The project hosts probable reserves of 1.7 million tonnes grading 5.16 grams gold and 120 grams silver.
