Int’l Annax cuts high grade at Dairi

Diamond drilling at the Dairi zinc-lead project in North Sumatra, Indonesia, is testing the southernmost limits of the high-grade Anjing Hitam zone.

International Annax Ventures (IAX-V) reports that the first hole of the 2001 program, no. 46, intersected a 15.4-metre interval of massive sulphide mineralization grading 17.5% zinc and 9.2% lead, plus 9 grams silver per tonne. The intercept was roughly 30 metres downdip of last year’s hole 43, which cut 8.8 metres of 13.2% zinc and 7.7% lead.

Hole 47 cut 4.1 metres of massive sulphides grading 20.6% zinc, 11.2% lead and 20 grams silver. It was drilled a further 68 metres downdip of hole 46.

Hole 48 was collared off the same site as holes 46 and 47 but was swung to the south to test the southern limits of the zone. However, the hole deviated to the west, beyond the limits of the deposits. The operator is considering a down-hole electromagnetic survey to determine the southerly trend of mineralization.

In the meantime, the drill rig is being moved to the Bongkaras zone, 3 km north of Anjing Hitam.

International Annax owns an 80% interest in the Dairi project, with the remainder held by its Indonesian partner, PT Aneka Tambang. Annax’s parent company, Australia-listed Herald Resources, is the operator.

Anjing Hitam hosts an indicated resource of 7.5 million tonnes grading 16.6% zinc, 10.3% lead and 14 grams silver. An additional 2.5 million tonnes grading 11.3% zinc, 6.8% lead and 13 grams silver are categorized as inferred.
