Drilling of 23 holes by International Curator Resources has indicated an encouraging reserve picture on its Jualin gold prospect near Juneau, Alaska.
The 15,000 ft of drilling indicates probable reserves of 271,718 tons grading 0.3 oz gold per ton. In the probable and possible category, reserves are 1,109,888 tons of 0.204 oz.
Results show that at least five parallel fissure veins are present within the northwesterly trending Jualin shear zone. The vein system has been traced for over 1,800 ft in length and 900 ft in depth (N.M., Jan 4/88).
The vein system is still open on strike and down dip, indicating that the geologic potential could be greater than two million tons at a similar grade, President M. McInnis says.
The company is planning a $3- million program in 1988, including 22,000 ft of diamond drilling and bulk sample testing. Permit applications for a road from Berners Bay to the project site have been filed. Work will start in May and take about four months to complete, at which time a decision will be made on an underground program in the fall.
