A director of Wharf Resources (TSE), Richard Brissenden, cut his material ties to the heap-leach gold miner in September when he sold 15,000 shares at $5.37-6.25 to hold none.
Wharf recently purchased a 60% interest in the Golden Reward mine, which lies next to its own heap-leach operation in South Dakota. Golden Reward is expected to yield 62,000 oz. gold next year, boosting the company’s 1993 production to more than 130,000 oz.

Fairfield Minerals (TSE) — Nanisivik Mines, holder of more than 10%, sold 196,000 at 48 cents to hold none directly and 2.25 million indirectly. Garden Lake Resources (VSE) — Donald Rankin, president, sold 475,000 at 8-26 cents and bought 200,000 privately at 23 cents to hold 114,501 directly and 25,000 indirectly.
Goldbelt Resources (VSE) — Peter Steen, director, bought 50,000 at 76 cents to hold 50,000.
Golden Star Resources (TSE) — Jean-Pierre Lefebvre, director, sold 15,000 at $4.10-5.75 to hold 108,375 directly and 181,100 in RRSPs.
Great Lakes Minerals (TSE) — John McBride, chairman, bought 3,000 on the market at 53 cents and 296,296 privately at 27 cents to hold just over one million.
Jonpol Explorations (TSE) — John Pollock, president, bought 75,000 at 15-16 cents to hold 193,500 directly, 623,593 indirectly and 200,000 in an RRSP. Pure Gold Resources (TSE) — Bruce McDonald, director, sold 206,000 for 14.5-16 cents to hold none.
White Star Copper Mines (CDN) — Virginia Hall, director, bought 10,000 in August at an undisclosed price and sold 10,000 in September at $1.50 to hold none.
