INSIDER TRADING — Senior Golden Star officers granted

Six senior officers of Golden Star Resources (TSE) were granted options in September.

According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulletin, senior officer Carlos Bertoni was granted 25,000 options at $16.20 to hold 75,000 options. Director and senior officer David Fagin was granted 60,000 options at $16.20 to hold 405,000 options. Senior officer Louis Peloquin was granted 25,000 options at $16.20 to hold 75,000 options. Senior officer Hilbert Shields was granted 25,000 options at $16.20 to hold 75,000 options. Director and senior officer David Fennell was granted 60,000 options at $16.20 to hold 498,192 options. Senior officer Christopher Taylor was granted 25,000 options at $16.20 to hold 62,500 options.

Other transactions include:

American Barrick Resources (TSE) — Angus MacNaughton, director and senior officer, sold 10,000 shares at US$25.75 to hold 40,000 shares. Brian Mulroney, director, was granted 250,000 options at an undisclosed price, and bought 100 shares at $33 to hold 100 shares and 500,000 options. Luis Baertl, senior officer, exercised 20,000 options at $18.19, and sold 19,000 shares at $34.38-34.50 to hold 1,000 shares and 160,000 options.

Canada Tungsten (TSE) — Roderick Douglas, director, exercised 11,500 options at 72 cents, and sold 11,500 shares at $1.85-1.86 to hold 1,000 shares and 25,000 options.

Goldbelt Resources (VSE) — Michael Muzylowski, senior officer and director, bought 46,625 shares at 80 cents-$1.15 and sold 15,000 shares at $1.14-1.15 to hold 565,625 shares.

Joutel Resources (TSE) — Hugh Harbinson, senior officer, was granted 400,000 options at 43 cents, to hold 975,000 options. Richard Nemis, director, sold 19,000 shares at 48-52 cents to hold 5,000 shares. Charles Page, senior officer and director, was granted 400,000 options at 43 cents to hold 975,000 options. Susan Smith, senior officer, was granted 175,000 options at 43 cents to hold 375,000 options.

Manhattan Minerals (VSE) — Robert Willis, director and senior officer, bought 3,400 shares at $1.70, and sold 10,000 shares at $1.60-1.70 to hold 928,500 shares.

Monk Gold & Resources (ASE) — Agostino Forgione, director, bought 17,000 shares at 25 cents and sold 70,000 shares at 25-40 cents to hold 184,453 shares.

Vengold (TSE) — Ian Telfer, director and senior officer, was granted 1.4 million options at $4.50 to hold 1.6 million options.
