Back in November, Danish newspaper reports that Corona and Platinova had discovered the next motherlode on Greenland’s eastern coastline drove the price of Platinova shares up to over $2.
But according to the Ontario Securities Commission’s Insider Trading Bulletin, Crombie sold 40,000 Platinova shares for $1.35- 1.60 before the newspaper reports were published.
After executives at both Platinova and Corona said that the newspaper reports were greatly exaggerated, Platinova shares slipped back to their current trading level of $1.50. Rayrock could benefit from any future successes at Platinova’s Skaergaard project by virtue of its ownership of two million of Platinova’s 26 million outstanding shares. So, too, could Crombie, who as a Platinova director, still holds 19,500 shares.
