INSIDER TRADING — Cumberland Res. executives sold shares in November

Officers and directors of Cumberland Resource (VSE) took advantage of the rise in value of the company’s stock and sold shares in November, 1995.

According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulletin, Terence Chandler, senior officer, sold 10,000 shares at $2.75-$3 to hold 10,500 shares. Kerry Curtis, senior officer, was granted 40,000 options at $3.30 to hold 100,000 options, while Michael Kenyon, director, sold 12,000 shares at $2.25-$3.50 to hold 152,500 shares. Other transactions reported since November include:

* Arequipa Resources (TSE) — Catherine McLeod, director and senior officer, sold 5,000 shares at $1.27-$1.30 and another 2,700 shares at $1.58 to hold 333,000 shares.

* Barrick Gold (TSE) — Charles Birchall, director, exercised options and acquired 150,000 shares at $12.88 to hold 275,000 shares and 100,000 options.

* Black Hawk Mining (TSE) — Gary Hughes, director, exercised options and acquired 38,258 shares at 62 cents to hold 1.2 million shares and 35,290 options.

* Cominco (TSE) — Gerard Manuel, senior officer, exercised options and acquired 4,000 shares at $17.63 and 6,000 shares at $21.13. He later sold 10,000 shares at $29 to hold 2,068 shares and 24,000 options.

* Goldbelt Resources (VSE) — Michael Muzylowski, director and senior officer, exercised options and acquired 300,000 shares at 48 cents and sold 300,000 shares at 60 cents. He also sold 5,500 shares at 70 cents-74 cents to hold 489,125 shares and 75,000 options.

* Great Lakes Minerals (TSE) — John McBride, director and senior officer, sold 200,000 shares at 23 cents-26 cents to hold 1.4 million shares.

* Kinross Gold (TSE) — Garth MacRae, senior officer who exercises control of more than 10% of the company, exercised options and acquired 10,000 shares at $1.40 and sold 10,000 shares at $11.25 to hold no shares and 115,000 options. David Rovig, director, sold 5,000 shares at $10.88 to hold 421,350 shares.

* Teck (TSE) — John Taylor, senior officer, exercised options and acquired 5,000 class B shares at $17.13 and sold 5,000 class B shares at $27 to hold no shares and 25,000 options.
