Some insiders of diamond explorer Aber Resources (TSE) have been active sellers of late. Judith Barker, wife of insider Lee Barker, sold 5,800 shares in July and August for $1.60-1.90 to hold none. Highwood Resources, holder of more than 10%, sold 357,000 for $2.01-2.18 to hold 1.47 million.
A drill program financed by Kennecott is scheduled to get under way this fall on Aber’s joint venture property in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories. Aber, as part of a consortium, has identified 30 priority targets within 30 miles of the Point Lake discovery pipe. Other transactions completed recently include:
Champion Gold Resources (ASE) — Larry Melnick, president, exercised 104,000 options for 20 cents and sold 27,000 for 15 cents to hold 1.9 million. Consolidated Ramrod Gold (TSE) — David Jackson, officer, bought 8,000 for $3.10-3.35 and sold 3,500 for $3.05 to hold 23,600. Karl Rollke, director, bought 31,100 and sold 2,500 to hold 2.3 million.
Fairfield Minerals (TSE) — Nanasivik Mines, holder of more than 10%, sold 16,000 for $1.50-1.62 to hold 196,000.
Kemano Gold (ASE) — Jan Alston, officer and director, sold 161,000 for 14-21 cents to hold 100,000.
Kokanee Explorations (VSE) — John Stypula, holder of more than 10%, sold 46,600 for $3.10-3.25 and bought 4,000 for $3.15 to hold 412,000. Noranda — Brascan, holder of more than 10%, sold 12.5 million series E preferred shares at $20 to hold none.
Peat Resources (CDN) — La Prairie Ltd., holder of more than 10%, sold 125,000 privately and 10,000 on the market at 20 cents to hold 1.5 million. Gordon Bongard, director, bought 125,000 privately at the same price to hold 125,000 indirectly.
Princeton Mining (TSE) — James O’Rourke, president, sold 41,000 privately for $1.80 to hold 1.3 million indirectly.
Queenstake Resources (TSE) — Gordon Gutrath, president, sold 150,000 privately for 10 cents to hold 1.6 million directly and indirectly. Timmins Nickel (TSE) — Stephen McIntyre, president, sold 169,500 for 21 cents to hold 809,476 directly and indirectly.
United Reef Petroleums — Canhorn Mining, holder of more than 10%, sold 350,000 for 30-40 cents to hold 826,474.
