Gold demand is undergoing a significant, structural, and geographic transformation, driven by record-high prices, unprecedented central bank accumulation and a shift towards safe-haven assets in a fractured geopolitical landscape.

Our latest infographic tracks global central bank reserves from 1990 through third-quarter 2025. It compares gold with the six most-held reserve currencies. It highlights year-over-year changes in key components of gold demand between 2024 and 2025 and presents a gold price outlook through January 2027, based on World Gold Council analysis.
