Indigo Gold drilling Louvicourt property

A 2-hole drill program is scheduled to get under way this month on property shared by Indigo Gold Mines (ASE), Globex Mining Enterprises (ME) and Murgor Resources (VSE) in Louvicourt Twp., Que.

Situated about eight kilometres northeast of the Aur-Louvem discovery, the 19-claim property is being explored for its base metal potential.

The initial drill program will test two geophysical anomalies to a depth of 300 metres below surface. Last year, ground geophysical surveys conducted by Indigo delineated several magnetic and conductive anomalies on the property.

The first target to be tested consists of a strong conductor along a prominent contact between andesite and pyroclastic rocks. One shallow drill hole completed in 1968 tested part of the geophysical feature at depths of 37 metres below surface. A re-assay of the old core returned anomalous values ranging from 600 parts per million (ppm) to 2,000 ppm copper. Elevated levels of sulphide mineralization and chlorite-sericite alteration were also logged in the core, according to Indigo. The anomaly has been traced on surface for a strike length of 700 metres.

The second target is situated north of the first anomaly and consists of a moderate electromagnetic conductor with a coincident magnetic lineament.

Calgary-based Indigo has the right to earn a 50% interest in the property with Globex and Murgor, each retaining a 25% interest.

Further drilling based on down hole geophysical surveys and the results of phase-one work is planned.
