Indian lore, movies, animals- are popular as company names

Some popular Hollywood movies have even jumped into the act, yielding names like 007 Precious Metals (VSE), 2001 Resources (VSE), and Top Gun Explorations (VSE). Other unusual names with a twist include Wise Boy Resources (VSE), Wildfire Resources (VSE) and Trapper Resources (ASE).

Animals have inspired an impressive range of corporate namesakes, too. No doubt junior mining companies probably spend a lot of time in the great outdoors searching for minerals, but what do dolphins, buffalos, or uni corns have to do with exploration anyway?

Examples of various zoological namesakes drawn from the animal kingdom include Dolphin Explorations (TSE), Tiger Resources (ME), Antelope Resources (VSE), Golden Dragon Resources (VSE), Black Swan Gold (VSE), Buffalo Resources (VSE), Consolidated Heron Resources (VSE), International Wildcat Resources (VSE), Little Bear Resource (VSE), Mink Minerals (VSE), Stag Resources (VSE), Stallion Resources (VSE), Mustang Resources (VSE), Unicorn Corp. (ASE), and Red Fox Resources (COATS).

Large birds of prey seem to be especially popular among junior companies, giving rise to names such as Black Hawk Resources (TSE), Hawk Resources (VSE), Grey Hawk Resources (VSE), Silverhawk Resources (VSE), Skyhawk Resources (VSE) and Eagle Pass Resources (VSE), to mention a few.

Some selected parts of animal anatomy have also served as sources for the name game. A few examples include Zygote Resources (VSE) (a zygote is a type of egg cell), Claw Resources (VSE), Tusk Minerals (ASE), Whitehorn Resources (ASE), and Golden Eye Resources (VSE).

Certain trees and plants have even had companies named after them like Moss Resources (ASE), Pinegrove Resources (ASE), Pinetree Exploration (COATS) and Coral Gold (VSE).
