Inco explores properties in Casa Berardi region

A program of line cutting, induced-polarization (IP) surveys and diamond drilling has begun on two properties held by Inco (TSE) in the Casa Berardi area of northern Quebec.

In Casa Berardi Twp., Inco is earning a half interest in 301 claims from East West Resource (VSE) and Cross Lake Minerals (VSE). Recent drilling by Glen Auden Resources (CDN) on an adjacent property outlined a gold-bearing carbonate zone which has been traced to the property boundary. This zone returned values of 9.6 grams gold per tonne over 1 metre and 2.9 grams over 4 metres.

In addition, a rhyolite horizon has been located on adjoining claims with important zinc, lead and gold values which may align with IP anomalies previously outlined on the East West-Cross Lake property. This horizon is geochemically similar to the Estrades deposit 10 km east of the property. Elsewhere in Casa Berardi and Estrees twps., Inco is earning a 60% interest in a 44-claim property. Previous geophysical surveys by property vender Glen Auden outlined a 1-km-long IP anomaly 800 metres south of, and parallel to, a sulphide horizon believed to be the Agnico Eagle mine horizon. In addition, a complex electromagnetic anomaly has been located. Drilling on both properties is expected to begin some time in March, once ground conditions improve for moving heavy equipment.
