In the August 25 issue of The Northern Miner, Cassiar Mining reported that reserves on the San Antonio gold mine in southeastern Manitoba had quadrupled as a result of a recently completed underground drilling program.
However, project operator Inco Ltd. says “this is not a correct interpretation of our report.”
Inco says “our recent work has shown `mineral resources’ of some 420,000 oz of contained gold. Since no economic studies of the mineability of these resources has been undertaken, it would be inappropriate to state reserves have increased substantially beyond the 114,000 oz of contained gold determined in earlier work.”
