Improved data for Explorationists

The Ministry of Northern Development of Mines of Ontario is preparing a province-wide magnetic grid that will provide the base for a wide range of improved aeromagnetic data for use by mineral explorationists and geoscience consultants. Data for this project have been obtained from 41 federal- provincial aeromagnetic surveys conducted between 1947 and 1987.

“Ontario is the first province to prepare such a standardized master magnetic grid,” said Mines Minister Hugh O’Neil. “It is anticipated that the processing techniques developed for this project will become standard in other provinces.”
