Junior International Gold Reserve (CDN) has optioned a 27-sq.-mile concession in western Ghana.
The ground, near Tarkwa, is underlain by a conglomeritic unit which hosts the Iduapriem and the Teberebie gold mines. Annual production at Iduapriem is 125,000 oz. while Teberebie produces 200,000 oz. per year.
Exploration will begin shortly.
Further south at its Bibiani mine, the company is completeing 30,000 ft. of reverse circulation drilling.
